State Parks urges ice fishermen to use caution

Ice fishermen are reminded by the Wyoming Division of State Parks,
Historic Sites and Trails that driving any kind of motorized vehicle
on frozen lakes and reservoirs can be extremely risky and is not
recommended.
Pressure ridges can develop and cause thin patches in the ice that
cannot support a car, pickup or ATV.
Visitors are urged to be extra diligent in checking the thickness of
the ice before venturing too far from shore.
Fishermen are urged to tell others exactly where they plan to go and
when they plan to return. If you happen to become stranded, please
stay with your vehicle and wait for help instead of attempting to walk
out.
Fishermen are reminded that they are responsible for the cost of
removing their vehicle from a lake or reservoir.
Before planning to ice fish at a state park, please call for
up-to-date ice conditions.
